Movie Matinee: Alfred Hitchock’s “Stage Fright”

Thursday, March 28th
Movie Running Time: 1:00 – 2:50 p.m.

The role of your life may be the cause of your death! Starring Jane Wyman, Michael Wilding, Alistair Sim, Dame Sybil Thorndyke, Richard Todd and Marlene Dietrich.

Academy Award winner Jane Wyman plays Eve Gill, a drama student who envisions the “acting challenge” of a lifetime when she helps a desperate friend (Richard Todd), who is being framed by the flamboyant stage star Charlotte Inwood (Marlene Dietrich), for the killing of her husband.  Eve’s plan is to pose as a maid, go to work for Charlotte, and uncover evidence in the matter.  But what naïve Eve is about to uncover is that where murder is involved, life doesn’t follow a script!  Superbly directed by Alfred Hitchcock with a stellar supporting cast of Michael Wilding as handsome Scotland Yard Detective Inspector Will Smith and Alistair Sim and Dame Sybil Thorndyke as Eve’s colorful and loving, but somewhat off-beat parents.
