Wednesday, April 10th.  12 noon to 2:30 pm.

Please join us for a wonderful afternoon of delicious food and amazing entertainment.  Our menu consists of:  Garden salad, Garlic Rye bread, Potato & Cheese Perogies, Cabbage Rolls, Chicken cutlet, Broccoli, Mushroom Gravy and dessert.

Our entertainer  “Emilio” is new and not to be missed. His voice will delight and amaze you with inspiring songs.

Education: Introduction to the Law & Elder Abuse

FRIDAY, MARCH 29TH from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

A presentation on what the Law says about Reporting Elder Abuse, Capacity and Capacity Assessments, and Principles for Decision-making, the Substitute Decisions Act, forms of Guardianship, the role of a Power of Attorney for Personal Care, and a Power of Attorney for Property, guardianship and reporting abuse to the police.

Presented by: Elder Abuse Ontario and an Elder Abuse Lawyer.

Cost: $2.00 to attend. Please register with the front office.  You may pay ahead or pay at the door when you come to the Centre.

Craft Session: Paint your own Flowerpot for Spring!

TUESDAY, MARCH 26TH from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Create your own design and paint a flowerpot for Spring! Please register in the main office before March 22nd.  We provide the pots, you provide the design!

Relaxing Chair Massage with Massage Practitioner

Tuesday, April 16th.  12 noon to 3:00 pm.

Enjoy a relaxing chair massage with Lily, a massage practitioner.

To sit in the chair, you will be sitting and facing into the face cushion, at a slight downward angle. You place your knees onto the pads of the chair. This explanation is provided so that you are aware of what is required to sit in this type of chair.

$20 for a 15 minute massage.  $5.00 will be kindly donated to the Centre by Lily. Please register and pay with the front office.

Movie Matinee & Easter Social Get together

Thursday, April 18th: 12 noon to 2:00 pm; 2:00-3:00 pm refreshments

Join us for the movie: “Beaches” at 12 noon to 2:00 pm,, a musical comedy-drama starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hersey. Then afterwards, we will have dessert and coffee/tea.  Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased in the front office before April 16th.

Creative Movement Exercise Class–New

Tuesdays, April 23rd to May 28th

10:00 am – 11:30 am

Participants follow gentle exercises done to music, each performing within their own abilities. Exercises are done in chairs but you may stand too. Exercises are directed to the needs of a person with Parkinson’s disease or with mobility concerns and include: postural awareness, balance, flexibility and ease of motion. Repetition is important for improvement and building confidence.

It is a gentle program beneficial to anyone interested in feeling better.  Membership not required.

$36.00 for 6 weeks. Please register and pay in the front office.

Day Trip: Niagara: The Falls, Flowers & Butterflies

Wednesday, JULY 3rd, 2019

Enjoy the Falls and some of its delightful attractions on this fun day away. We’ll start off with a look at the Falls, then it’s on to the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse (11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) where, for over 60 years, visitors have come to discover paradise at this lush oasis, just a short distance from the Falls. Collections of orchids, succulents and other tropical plants are on display throughout the year, along with floral shows that reflect the seasons. Flying throughout the greenery are colourful tropical birds!

For lunch today we’ll take you to the top of the Skylon Tower (1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) where you can enjoy a Buffet in the Summit Dining Room while gazing over the Falls and surroundings.  After lunch we’ll follow the Niagara Parkway a short distance for a visit to the Butterfly Conservatory (3:00 – 4:00 p.m.), a magical attraction featuring over 2000 colourful tropical butterflies floating freely among lush exotic blossoms and greenery. Leaving the Conservatory, we’ll follow the lovely Parkway up to charming Niagara-on-the-Lake for a quick look, then we’re homeward bound.
