Who wants ice cream?!  Members are invited for a bowl of ice cream where you choose what toppings you would like to put on.  Games and quizzes will be a part of the social too.  A yummy afternoon!

Jewellery making Workshop

Tuesday, August 13th

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Make your own necklace using real semi-precious stones and beads. The beads and stones will be provided for you, it is just up to you for the design. The necklace will be easy to put on and off as it is created using a circular wire, that will link at the back of the neck.  Please register in the front office before August 9th.

Movie: “Strangers on a Train” (Alfred Hitchcock, 1951)

The abiding terror in Alfred Hitchcock’s life was that he would be accused of a crime he did not commit. This fear is at the heart of many of his best films, including “Strangers on a Train” in which a man becomes the obvious suspect in the murder of his wife. He makes an excellent suspect because of the genius of the actual killer’s original plan:  Two strangers will “exchange murders,” each killing the person the other wants dead. They would both have airtight alibis for the time of the crime, and there would be no possible connection between killer and victim.  The “criss-cross” murder deal in “Strangers on a Train” indeed would have worked perfectly — except for the detail that only one of the strangers agrees to it.

Chair Yoga – Kundalini

Chair yoga exercises can focus on the heart and circulation, general mobility, coordination, enhancing lymphatic flow, mental focus, short term memory, immune function, balancing and more. You will also learn beneficial breathing techniques that are a key aspect of reaching optimum health. Enjoy all the benefits of chair Yoga in a safe and encouraging atmosphere while having so much fun! Chair yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga, mostly practiced either sitting in a chair, or standing, using the chair for support.  We practice different yoga postures, with simple breathing techniques that aid in relaxation.   Each session concludes with gentle relaxation/meditation to reduce stress.  Chair yoga may be the perfect choice for you if you:

  • Have difficulty getting down to or up from the floor
  • Suffer from high blood pressure, anxiety, arthritis, fatigue, osteoporosis, and chronic pain
  • Want to increase your flexibility, mobility, and move with greater ease and comfort

Wear loose comfortable clothing.
