Order Purdy’s Chocolates: Last Day to Order is November 21st!

A delectable year end fundraiser for the Centre! Order your chocolates and help the Centre in the process!

The Purdy’s chocolate booklets and order forms are now available at the Centre. Order in person or you can also shop on-line under the Islington Seniors’ Centre Campaign Page and place your order online. When you drop off your order, please bring the payment as well (all orders must include HST).

Go to https://fundraising.purdys.com, then Register (top of the page) and create an account with your name and create a password. Register “As a Supporter”. 

The account number to enter is: 28005 so that you will be part of the fundraising campaign for the Centre. Your order will be sent to the Centre, for pickup starting on December 6th.  All orders must be place before November 21st.  The chocolates are then shipped directly to us, just before December 6th, from Vancouver, B.C.  We will call you for pickup.

Music Wellness Clinic: Christmas Carols!

11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Please join this fun and informative class that will highlight Christmas Carols– the songs, artist biographies and videos are provided during the class and if you want to sing along, you can.  But you don’t have to have singing talent to be a part of this class.  It is a great way to spend an hour and listen to some interesting and memorable music. Get into the Christmas spirit and join us!

Please register with the front office.  $2.00 to attend.

Christmas Holiday Luncheon

11:45 AM TO 2:15 PM

Join us for our annual Christmas Holiday Luncheon. A traditional meal with a new piano playing singer! Lots of Christmas carols and other songs to sing along too and get up and dance too if you wish! Tickets are $16.50 each and must be purchased in person in the front office.

Knitted and Baked Goods Sale on December 8th

9:00 AM TO 12 NOON

We are having a knitted and baked goods sale, with a few extra things too! We have mitts and hats, blankets and slippers and baby clothes. All would make a wonderful gift for the holidays.
Homemade baking will be available to purchase as well. All proceeds are part of the fundraising initiatives for the Centre.

Book Club

Join a group of avid readers on the first Wednesday of every month to discuss our latest read. Discussions will be moderated by the Toronto Public Library.

Movie Matinee: Hercule Poirot: The Mysterious Affair at Styles

Soldier and sleuth work on their first case together! Starring David Suchet as Hercule Poirot with Hugh Fraser as Lieutenant Hastings and Philip Jackson as Inspector Japp.

Set in the Summer of 1917, “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” follows the war-wounded Hastings to the Styles St. Mary estate of his friend John Cavendish. However, the Cavendish household is wrought with tension due to the marriage of John’s widowed mother to a suspicious younger man. In the village, Hastings runs into his old friend Hercule Poirot, a famous Belgian police detective. When the estate’s trouble turns deadly, the friends unite to solve a most baffling case.
